I know someone in this joint made a heat shield for their JWT Pop Charger. Can I get some ideas one making one for mine? I got some sheet metal and am ready to get dremelin'. Just need some design plans if anyone's some.

Hey, would you consider sending those pics to me as well. I have also looked into the Stillen cold air box but have been unable to find out if it would fit around JWT pop charger.

The $tillen pop is the same as the JWT. I would think that the CAB would fit over it. Someone posted that they would be willing tosell it seperate, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Here is the skinny on the fabbed heat shield. Its rather simple and i'm sure it can be improved on. I used a piece of 18ga sheet metal (Home Depot) and cut the large areas with tin snips, fine tuning was done with the ol' Dremel. Three holes were drilled in the bottom of the shield to provide mounting from the stock airbox points. I also drilled the four holes on the vertical face to mount to the filter and the JWT support bracket. A notch was also cut on the front side to wrap around the ambient air sensor, which I left in its stock position.I got lazy and never drilled a hole for that little nub on top of the filter. The whole process is much easier if the filter is out of the truck so you can use it as a template. Overall you can feel a big differance in heat between the shield side and the engine side. I think it also provides a tad bit of splash protection. Hope this helps out as I am a fountainhead of useless information! laugh laugh

Not sure how much better the performance is with the heat shield, it's got to help at least a little. The shield does keep a large amount of heat out of the filter. I will do a test on air temp on either side tommorow, with a remote thermometer while driving. My wife refused to ride on the front and hold the sensor......don't know why, I mean seriously where is her dedication?! laugh

Got it done... would of been a simple install if I hadn't drop a bolt into the engine (can't reach the damn thing). Seems to be holding up fine with the other three though, just have to cross my fingers.

I did however take a different approach. blocked off the sides but kept it roomy by not covering directly below the charger. Space goes all the way down to the wheel well. I also put the box behind the sensor. I'll post some pix up soon.

Thanks for the help.

I feel your pain,I must have dropped the damn bolts about five times!! Luckily they all managed to fall out the bottom.

Just in case... I'm posting these because I said I would. Sorry for the delay (if anyone cares).

BTW... does anyone think that there would be a problem with my shield covering the MAS?
