Nice, big front tow ring. smile

It's the little things that make you happy.

Nice lookin' truck, but thankfully doesn't make me wanna trade my '03 in right away. Hell, maybe I'll buy one for the wife.

It seems to me that the body side moldings are too low, shouldn't they be mounted at the most pronounced portion of the door so when you open the door they make contact first IMO

I think you'd locate them at the most common height of other car doors.

just saw the vehicle at rock center. it's exactly what was posted at the beginning of this thread. it also has a prototype dana rear and coil over struts up front. NO TORSION BARS. the oil pan was very out in the open in front of the forward crossmember. easily prone for damage, but a skid plate could cover it. i haven't had time to read this whole thread so i'm sorry if this has been discussed already. brent and a few other took plenty of pictures. brent is on his way to a kinkos to upload them soon. they had the truck on this make shift rock hill in front of the today show with some camping gear set up.

they wouldn't open it up for us or look under the hood so we couldn't find where the alternator was located. but there are some pictures of the engine in the new booklet of the vehicle. it looked like a cross between a titan, liberty and xterra and yes there is a step built into the rear corner pieces. the tires were 265/75/16(32x10.5) with front and rear disk brakes.

no we weren't able to look inside or under the hood. they said it was still a "prototype" vehicle.

Does this mean getting into 4WD with a dial instead of a lever? If it does, I'm out. frown
I like my transfer case to go "ka-thunk".

there's no more sunroof option and the gear basket is lockable up top. the rear cargo area is cool allowing you too put cargo hooks in the floor with storage underneath it and the rear seats folds down without having to take out the seat cushions. wheel base it bigger too with a better approach angle. the front sway bar was huge on this thing. and the gas tank is located on the drivers side now. it's a whole new platform with a bigger frame.

Coil springs are replacing the torsion bars and it looks like struts instead of shocks. The only dissadvantage of coils is additional sprung weight. The advantages are that they are known for a smother more controlled easier to tune ride. They are definately a more advanced suspension system

Another upside is that they are easier to work with for lift kits since there are many more lift options available for coil overs.

Look for a much more involved aftermarket since now a company can make a product that can run across three or four different vehicles. For the first time it really makes financial sense to build parts for Nissans.
