Has anyone replaced the radiator fan with an electric one? Doing so should free up a few horses. I did a search but did not find anything.

I think the HP gain would be minimal. I think the big problem with doing this has always been getting an electric fan that will fit that will move enough air. Remember that you are swapping mechanical energy that turns the present fan with electrical energy that powers the new fan. I think whatever you gain on one is offset by the need to generate the other. Of course I may be wrong.

I did it, it's not worth it, forget about it, let it go.

Milage is the same, HP gain is unnoticeable (less than 4HP) and the engine overheats more.

The only bennefit would be to keep the fan from turning when crossing deep water, which rarely is a problem.
