I emailed xterraparts.com with the same question for the service manual my 2002 XE V6. Since they do not currently stock this item ( yet ) they forwarded me a number that result in me call this number 800 639 8841 to verbally order the Service Manual.

Forget the electronic manual. Go out to your local auto parts store and get yourself a Haynes manual. I don't think the 01 is much different from the 02 and you'll save yourself a couple hundred bucks. It's been quite helpful for me. If you can't locate it by asking one of the people to search their databases, ask for the Frontier manual, its basically the same thing (but most of them are too stupid to figure that out).

Haynes is crap! Save your $ and get the ESM. I have it and I think it is worth the money! The paper maulas are almost $300!

The prices are rather... Insane...
But the information contained in the ESM is worth it's weight in gold if you're into hacking the Xterra, or do your own work.
FYI - it's just ONE CD... Filled with a bunch of PDF files. I would get the CD/electronic version over the book - this way, you can print out what you need and take it outside with you, search on the text, enlarge images, etc. Just more flexible...

The 02 ESM should cover the SC models, can't think of any reason why it wouldn't, and they would certainly note it otherwise.
The Haynes manual does NOT cover the Supercharged models of the Xterra or Frontier.

The factory book/CD has details, specs and drawings that you need for certain things. My advice, go for the factory manual. I have had one for virtually every post-1985 vehicle that I have owned (many), and they pay for themselves in one or two uses. Sure, $210 is pricey, but I guarantee that ONE out-of-warranty dealer repair of any complexity will run you that much in labor at minimum. You will never regret buying the factory manual.

I agree, kandacarlson...
The only aftermarket manuals that I've found to be any good are definitely NOT the Haynes and Chilton guides. There's a brand called "Bentleys" or something (forgot exactly) - they go into a lot more detail, rivaling some factory manuals.
The factory manual is the de facto standard for your vehicle though, and you'll never find anything with as much information.
