Have you done the headers or a cam yet? Also, did you ever get word on the chip that they mapped from your computer? Just wondering - thanks if you have any info!

My friend in California did the re-map on the computer. He has all the info and hock-ups for the computer. We haven't done the cams or header yet, but I can't wait for it. Like I said in the prev thread. 156 hp to the rear wheels was was huge compared to the stock 138 at the rear. I should have everything else done in 2 to 3 weeks.

I sent my computer to him in Cali, it took him about a week. I call him today and get all the info as far as price and what he does.

Jackel - how does your gas mileage fare with the modifications you have made?
Thanks,
Brad

During Todrick's big adventure to Calico I was putting in about 1.5 gallons less then YellowJackets X, That was Highway Miles. Car companies have to make the motor run so bad to pass emissions, that when you add on parts to make the motor run more efficent that it actually does better. I did't figure out MPG, but 1.5 gallons less on every fill up can save a whole lot.

Being as my truck is registered in California, I am a bit worried about emissions stuff. Will these mods have any affect on vehicle emissions?

Jackel,
Did you have to worry about emissions at all?
Thanks,
Brad

Qualifiers: Yellowjacket is 4WD, Jackel's is 2WD, so there's some extra weight. We also had a Yakima box on the roof, adding weight and increasing drag. Jackel did not have any gear on the roof. I would not use Yellowjacket's fuel performance as a valid comparison. What you really want to know is what Jackel's MPG was before and after the mods.

From what I hear, he has been consistently getting 21 to 22 mpg. When we filled up in Camp Verde I was at 16.8 he was at 22. I also have 4x4 and had my roof rack loaded with gas, water, toolbox, etc. I do know that after his air filter, exhaust, computer work, etc... he definately has more power to play with than I do.

OK, so what are the numbers and what is the cost ? ... mpg is easy ... comparing it to someone else's X doens't make sense ...

How long to do and time down ? ...

Headers, cam ? ...
