I posted this in the tire forum with no reply, so im trying a post here. does any one have a fix for the tire rubbing the brake sheild in the passenger side wheel well. It does it when turned all the way right. I have an 2002 with 265/75-16's and no lift.

And yes I tried the search

You can either:

1. "Modify" the shield with a hammer or other favorite beating tool.

or

2. Adjust your rear steering stop on that side. There is a bolt with a metal/plastic cap on the lower rear of the knuckle that you can adjust a bit to prevent the tire from getting too close to the shield. Just loosen the jamb nut, unscrew it a bit, and tighten the jamb nut. Test and repeat if necessary.

Personally I like option #1. [Too much XOC]

Easiest thing is take off the shield, bend the mounting tabs the same amount, to force the shield to sit a little farther back, and in towards the frame, then put it back on. Doesn't take much, and there's plenty of space to move it back almost a whole inch.
