I recently purchased an OR and haven't notcied any others on the road at all. Did Nissan make a very few of them? how rare are they?

It's weird, I never saw any other ones until last weekend, I saw two in the same parking lot just seconds apart.

There are fewer Off Road models than any other, that is for sure, but they are not totally rare.

based on this forum alone youd think 90% were OR's.
On the street ive seen 5 or so S, 3 OR and no other SE yet

I agree. It seems Colorado has it's fair share. I'd say 75% of the ones I've seen are OR editions.

They are rare here in the Rogue Valley, as I have yet to see one other than mine. I had to drive 3.5 hours to buy mine (I don't trust "dealer locate" deals).

While there were no shortage of offroad models available, maybe less than one in 5 is an OR here in San Diego Co.

I only rarely see other OR's in Denver. I'd say 1 out of 10, maybe.
Never seen one in Moab, but I'm only over there in July, when the smart people stay away.

10-30% I believe is what the Nissan guy said at the last Gone. Depends on the market. When I got mine in the spring almost every western market was sold out. I suggested there numbers might need to be higher.

it is a rare find in the southeast, do to the populatity of bubba and his #8 stickered 10 foot high Ford F150 with 44's ..it took quite a while to find the one i wanted...Black/Offroad/6MT/4x4..ended up getting it out of Asheville, NC. i have only seen one other OR around here and it was a Black 4x2 Auto.

4x4's in any trim level were hard to find here in Phoenix when I got mine. Out of the 5 local 4x4 ORs available mine was the only 6spd. Every dealer had a ton of 2wd OR's tho.
Not many other manufacturers out there crazy enough to sell a 4x2 with an Off Road badge. Doesn't really make much sense, in my opinion Nissan should have kept the Off Road badge for 4x4's only.

I assume the locker in the rear that comes with the OR package would be helpful for 2wd owners in some cases.

I've only seen one on the road since I bought mine. It was also black and we waved at each other. I played hell trying to find my truck but finally lucked out and got all of the options I wanted.

Not sure about that, one of the dealers had 3 2006 OR listed, went and looked at them and they were all 4x2. I haven't seen many OR here 4x4, but there is a guy on this website near me it seems that has one.
Oh and the only buttons on the 4x2 off road was the DSC off one

I checked a week before we bought ours, and there were 18 in the state. I thought, heck, most mall cruisers dont buy them....A week later I checked again and there were only 2 left in the state! We ran down and grabbed one.

Wow...only a couple of offroads (4x4) in San Diego Co... there are at least 6 nissan dealers here. One of them is fully loaded with every option, msrp of $30k.
There was probably 2 dozen when I got mine...guess the '06's are picked clean. Advertising works...
