Looking to buy a 1/2 manual torque wrench. Sears is making some real crap ones lately, and looking to get a decent one for less then a hundred. Anyone have the sk brand one?
Or any other suggestion?

Stay safe

Don't recall the brand (at work, can't check), but I got one at Autozone for well under $100 - more like $50 I think.

I'm not an expert mechanic, so I can't attest to it's relative quality, but it's served well for installing tow hitches, etc.

Cheap & Cheerful for me. I use a torque wrench that infrequently that it doesn't make sense to buy an expensive one for me.

I have an SK and it is great quality and same thing as the Husky branded models or at least they used to be. I have a 3/8 drive ft.lb husky and a 3/8 drive in.lb. SK and they are the same manufacturer just branded differently.

I also suggest the Husky..Right around $60 and more than good enough for what you'll need it for.. wink

i dont own one yet, and buying one hinges on this question: do you have to get it calibrated occasionally? we have to do it once a year in the navy & if thats the case i can just borrow a friends or figure something out

Well I would have to guess and say that depends on how much you use it and abuse it..

If its a half decent quality, bring it back to "0" when you finish using it, and it will last a long time.

Thanks for responses.
After reading some online reviews, I went with the craftsman "digitech". It is a step above the less desirable craftsman torque wrenches.
I got the 1/2 inch, and it was on sale for only 79 dollars. I hope it is accurate and lasts the life of the truck.

Stay safe.
