when I am on the highway or fast speeds, and the wind is blowing 15, 20MPH which is common in NE, my roof, and wind shield rattle like a mother, any ideas or tips?

I had the same problem, noticed there was some play in the deflector where the bolts that secured it to the rack was. I added a washer and didn't notice it. I did however get the newer style wind deflector less than 2 weeks later.

there is supposed to be a rubber strip along the bottom, see if that is missing, you can get a new one on xterraparts.com

The sunroof itself will also loosen up over time and start to lift up a tiny bit when it is windy - making a weird wind swooshing noise.

You can adjust it to retighten.
