Would you guys mind gently explaining to me what is meant when they are talking about "steering cores?" I have been on the SLR web site as well as others. I have read here about core swaps. What exactly is a core in reference to steering upgrades. Thanks.

A core is the stock equipment you're replacing. The SLR and L&P steering take a stock setup and reinforce/beef it up to make a bullet proof system. It's like getting a re-manufactured Alternator from Vato Zone, they give you a slight discount if you give them your busted one so that they can have it re-built. If my explanation doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll do better laugh

ChefTyler - thanks for the response. Makes sense. Never heard of L&P steering. Will have to check them out. Thanks again.

Yeah, they're great!

They took a simple proven and existing design and duplicated it at a lower price using unsightly booger welds. [ThumbsUp]

socalpunx - I am assuming you are talking about L&P. What are you running and are you pleased with the craftmansship/price thing. I'm gearing up for a lift upgrade. It was suggested that I also do a steering upgrade as well. So I am beginning my research into this.

Why yes I was.

I am running the SLR and with more travel than any other lift on the market it has held up wonderfully while the only servicing needed has been one set of bushings being replaced.

Well in 1 year of hard off-road use, mine has held up much better than the "beat all end all" system from the blue man group that the paint won't even stick too.
