I called Stillen and the guy(Brian) told me it was out today. He said there were three X's there ready to be hooked up. Check this out: $5685 tag. 93hp at the rear wheel and +83lbs of torque. And he says you have to get the Magnaflow exhaust to maximize the package ($475). I didn't ask him how the exhaust changes the #'s.
I would have to have a local dealer or trusty mechanic put it in, i imagine that would be pricey.I want one. If any of you lucky @&#%%
get one please tell us what its like. Dave H

too rich for my blood. The mods are too significant a chunk of the total cost of the vehicle. I'd be more excited about a turbo, personally.

You can get similar performance gains for $6k on the new 505 hp ZO6 vette. cam, tune, intake, labor, long tube headers and exhaust for about 540 hp to the rear wheels (610 flywheel) for the same price. You know vette guys pay a premium and I think Stillen is crazy to expect that out of Nissan owners.

It is just that the nicest sports cars like the Z06 cost so much to buy, but if mods for those are a better deal than some truck performance parts..I say forget it.

Installation instructions: linky

Advertised price $5425.

93 hp / 83 ft lbs increase at the wheels is pretty good for a 50 state legal v6 supercharger.

Edited: Fixed links

I am just confused as to why the Z06 is being referred to as part of "the nicest sport cars" classification. [LOL] [Laughing] [Spit]

because it can run down a ferrari F430 (on the track or the strip). I don't want a rattly vette either, but if I could get a used low mileage Z06 a few years from now it will happen. The Z06 with the mods I used as an example is my fathers. 600 hp in a chassis that can handle it is impressive.

Is this in a Z06 with or without thus said mods?

Just wondering since the Z06 goes from 0-60 in 4.54 seconds and the Ferrari can go from 0-62 in 4.0 seconds. So for that the Ferrari will beat your stated Vette. What's the top speed of a stock Z06? The top for the F430 is 196.

How is it that a vette is brought up in a 4x4 forum?

Two totally different animals.

hmmm... stroked small block, dry sump in a sports car vs. v6 4 cam that has not been factory prepped for race and lugs an additional 1200 lbs around.

First, if you have 70G +/- 5G to dump on a new Z06 you wouldn't be debating over a blower for the X.
Most vettes are 465 to the rear in bone stock form so yes, grabbing 75 rwhp in N/A mods is fantastic, but that can easily be had on any v8 with bolt on mods, especially an early 80 choked-down sb.

If someone manufactured true long-tubes for the x and a real exhaust that complimented the blower you would see more than 90 rwhp. Unfortunately, no matter what you dump into it, it is still a family wagon no matter how fast you make it.

If I wanted an insane 4x4 with corvette 0-60 times I would build a 408 powered early Bronco that tips in at 3200 lbs with a top and 3000 without. Then you can buy door inserts and remove the tail gait for another quick reduction of 200 lbs, but then again who cares, this is an Xterra forum and not an early Bronco, Zed, or what has a better hp/dollar performance ratio than the X forum.

The new Zed is a fantastic car, but comparing gains to an X is a bit far fetched.

No offense but lets keep this on topic so the thread doesn't get locked.

Is the 93 rwhp with the catback or without catback?

I just breezed through the install sheet and YIKES.

Cutting factory wires? Cutting a hole in the hood? What happened to plug and play? When I put the vortech on my stang and made 427.4 to the rear tire untuned... that is what I expected... plug and play.

What's interesting is that the Z06 was actually tested at 0-60 in 3.8 seconds by Motortrend...

Forget to add... "ME!" smile Got to drive a regular C6 at a GM drive-a-thon thing here locally, and that was shitloads of fun. Can't imagine with the Z06 must be like.

You're probably thinking of the old LS6 Z06s. The new ones would easily do a 4s flat 0-60 and mid 11's 1/4. MotorTrend had a F430 do a 189mph top speed run, gear limited. The same test had the Z06 do 207 indicated, though the actual is probably around 200.

Overall the two cars are pretty well matched performance wise. Their track times are really hair splitting.

Back to the Stillen - it's way overpriced for the relatively small hp gain. But that's always the way it is for us (compared to domestics).

Next time I'm at the dealership I'll be asking them if they would install it and maintain it. I would never buy it without knowing I have someone reputable to install it and service it. I'll post back what the dealership states.

Is this a Vette forum or an Xterra forum ? I could care less about the Vette, it is useless in the snow mud and otherwise. Who cares!
