This is how I have my horn set up.

Wire from the stock horn is connected to terminal #85 of the Hella relay coil
Ground terminal #86 of the coil
Run a fused wire from the battery to terminal #30
Take terminal #87 to the positive side of the horn
ground out the negative side of the horn.

I got this from coolerman a year or so back.

I think I just stuck my Hella's in place of the existing horn. Definitely did not use a seperate relay. I have had 2 sets of Hella's and a set Wolo's on the X using the same stock wiring. All have worked A-OK.

I agree with the above post. I replaced my stock horn with the PIAA setup and I used stock wiring. Unplug, unbolt, (I had to build a simple bracket to mount both new horns) and then reinstall.

I thought about that, I just didn't want to go and keep replacing fuses if it didn't work. : ) So I went with the safe option and used the relay. It is good to know that someone people didn't have problem just pluging it in and going.

I used a relay and replaced the broken stock horn too. So I have the air horns for traffic and still have the stock one for chirping when locking. Not enough juice to power the air horns for the chirp.

I know I don't need to hear the beep when locking but sometimes the door is still ajar and it does not set... I like to know that.
