There was a thread here somewhere about a guy buying one in Wallmart and installing it on the dash or something. Cost him all of $10 if I remember right.
For a little more money you can do it yourself and make it real nice.
Or, as an alternative, they sell the rear view mirrors with thermometers built into them, but they are more money. A lot more money.
A few things to look into...

You don't NEED a self dimming mirror with an 8 pt compass feature....but since it does have that, why didn't they just go ahead and wire in a thermocouple and upgrade the firmware to the thermometer mirror from gentek?
For that answer to that rhetorical question, see the answer to why Nissan only has one horn instead of dual tones.

It's freakin' LA. The temp is what is was yesterday, and the day before. Winter=10° cooler, Summer=10° hotter.
If you hear popping noises, drive in the other direction. You're being shot at.

I have this thing in the dash that receives radio signals from radio stations...they broadcast the outside temperature, humidity and sometimes, the pollen counts and even traffic reports. Its very cool. If yours came with that, try it out, and see if yours does the same thing.

I have the SE 06 and it bugs me that it doesn't have the outside temp as well. I have considered the mirror with compass and temp but it is about 160 dollars and looks like kind of a pain to install. In the end though, I may have to break down and get the mirror. I have some links to how to perform this upgrade. If you need them let me know. Perhaps we can search out some other options as well. Let me know if you come up with any other ideas to get outdoor temp.

This is by far the most useful post in this thread. (And bonus points for also being the most entertaining.)

I knew what the outdoor temperature was like in all my cars, even the 1980 Olds. Just open the window and stick your hand out. Just be careful how far you stick it out if there is on coming traffic.
