this is for anyone looking for an easy way to digitize their videos taken with an analog camcorder. i use DIGITAL VIDEO CREATOR by DAZZLE,it has a usb interface all you do is run the software hook up your camcorder to the hardware that comes with the kit and choose from a wide range of compression options from movie quallity,VCD (video cds)that you can play on most DVD players. or you can really crunch it down to video email, you can also hook up digital cams as well as vcrs or tv. it also has video out so you can send your finished video out to a vcr or tv it works very well for me, but you should have at least a 800 MHZ processor, i am running a AMD ATHLON XP 2000 running at 1675 MHZ. i tried it on an old celeron 466 but the video quallity wasn't that good

I've got a Dazzle "Hollywood DV-Bridge" that's Firewire-based and does A/D-D/A conversions. Works like a real champ on Macs, dunno 'bout PCs.

I've written a review of the device on one of my Websites.

I already have software for making home videos on my computer. However, I need the USB hookup. Where can you find that hookup from phono to USB?

A local computer store - CompUSA, Fry's, etc.

Or, get it online...
