Went to the dealer to price XTERRAs and walked out with a 2002 Just Blue XTERRA an hour later, Hall Nissan in Newport News, VA; they even stayed open late to rush the paperwork through and gave me a dealer tag so I could drive it this weekend pending getting the reg tags on Monday. 4x4 seemed a bit of overkill for my next duty post (GUAM) so I went with the 4x2, especially since I will be towing motorycles pretty much exclusively.

Thing is a blast to drive and I have already been out to the driveway twice just to look at it (in the dark even). Shades of when I brought home the CB1000 and spent all night in the garage with it.

ride safe

Chris B...

Small world...something about great minds think alike

Yep still have the CB1000 (like you said way ahead of its time), 75000 miles and climbing, did 11,000 miles in September on the "Beast" 48 hours from Virginia Beach to San Diego to start then a couple of weeks to ride back. Fell in love with Utah on the trip so intend to live there when I retire, hence the Xterra as step one. Forsee another Xterra in the future when I finally retire (this one a 4x4).

ride safe

Bear,

Cool!! I plan on taking the X along with an XR650L out to Utah ASAP....I can't wait. In the meantime, Big Bend, Texas is planned for May and the Smyrna Nissan Factory tour is planned for June. Utah will have to be next year.

Anyway, have fun with your bike and your truck. laugh

My wife and I became the proud "parents" of an Alpine Green 2002 SE 4x2 in November and we love it. The 4x2 made the most sense for us based on our location (Kansas) and what we want to use it for - mostly hauling the bikes around and picking up stuff for working on the house and the lawn. We're planning on doing some camping out in it too.

I am also a new seXterra owner. Mine is a super Black V6 XE 4x2 Auto Util and Power Packages. Don't really go offroading too much so no need for a 4x4 ( and I really wouldn't want to dirty my baby like that). I got my wife to give me the go ahead when I almost cut off my thumb, cut thru the tendon and nerver and had to be surgically re-attached. Well my left hand and thumb was going to be in a cast for around 6 weeks so I told her that I don't know how I was going to be able to shift gears on my '91 Nissan hardbody, unless she wanted me to let go of the steering wheel to shift gears. 4 hours later I was home with my new 2002 sEXy lEXy seXterra (My wife gave her the seXterra nickname).
I get nothing but compliments and smiles with it. I look foward to many miles with her.

I am glad to be part of the XOC here in SoCal.

P.S. I'm going to Toys R Us to by me one of those RC Xterra's to join my four other 50+ MPH Nitro gulping RC Cars.

pop smurf,
That's some of the best reasoning I've heard so far of reasons to get an X and to convince your wife of it. Congrats on the new X!

Hey I am also a new X owner and am very happy with my purchase. Went to the dealer to help a friend in the purchase of her Altima and after 7 or 8 hurs I gave the salesperson the keys to my 2000 VW passat and traded it for the X. I just fell in love with the truck and besides that I got a super deal on the passat.

be safe.
