Hi all! I'm another new Xterra owner and a newbie to this forum. I just got my X about 2 weeks ago but I had to leave it for a week right after getting it (I went to Dallas for work). Boy was that tough! frown The color of my X is Molten Lava, but I see here that Molten Lava also seems to referred to as 'salsa' colored! Call it whatever you want, I like it! laugh

I gotta tell ya...after reading all these posts in favor of the 4x4s vs. the 4x2s I was wondering if I made a bad choice. But after reading your posts here and seeing what you do with your 4x2s, I'm convinced I made the right decision. Besides, my hubby is going to buy an 04 Frontier 4x4 so we should be covered!

Great. Outstanding. Welcome.

You might want to take your specific street address out of your profile. There are a lot of crazy people on the internet that will potentially use that to make you a target.

Yup..I was thinking the same thing...Anyhoo..Welcome to the show [Wave] ...I'm pretty sure you will enjoy your X...If you go out wheeling or anything like that, just get some Tow Hooks for your X and buy some Recovery Equipment...and don't go alone...since your other half is getting a Frontier 4x4, just go with him and you'll be alright, just don't do anything crazy...just my friendly 2 cents, since my first X was a 4x2...

Curious thing, that. If you got what you wanted, shame on anyone who would make you feel that way. Sometimes the 4x4 owners get really vicious towards those of us with lighter X's. Don't let it get to you, you've made a wise decision.

Seriously, though, there are several of us 4x2 owners that take 'em offroad and have a blast. Just be careful and don't go it alone.
I think that goes for both 4x4 and 4x2 vehicles. No matter what kind of vehicle you have, there's always a place you can get stuck.

Welcome! smile

I'm sure you'll enjoy your X real bad. And the fact that it's not a 4x4 doesn't change that statement. Even a 4x2 is capable of great things. I mean, it's an X.

ENJOY!

There have been a ton of different Xterra colors... Molten Lava and Salsa - though looking the same - are different colors from different model years.

Heh, I wasn't really "promoting" it, it just always gives me a laugh. Gene Ray is nuts... probably moreso than even Alex Chiu.

Molten Lava and Salsa are two different colors. Nissan stopped making Salsa in '01 (officially), but there were a few '02s in the color.

I too am from Tucson, AZ...well...at least during some weekends. I'm actually in the Sierra Vista Fort Huachuca area. I just bought a 2000 XSE 4x2 not too long ago and I love it. If it wasn't for the fact that it get's horrible gas mileage the Xterra would be perfect.
