hello...i have a friend who works at kelly blue book and he ran the whole torsion bar tweaking idea through his import truck manager and i was basically told that this will only worsen the ride and mess up the suspension...now, i'm all gung-ho to fix her up a bit but i'd like to know if this is a risk i'm taking by messing w/ the torsion bars....has anyone else heard of this happening?...or has anyone else been warned off of tweaking the torsion bars?

If you adjust them too far up (tightening) you will loose suspension drop. Whenever you hit a bump it will cause the suspension to "top out" (it you want to think in reverse of "bottom out").

If you want to adjust them to level the truck front to rear, don't over-do it.

Tweaking the torsion bars will not cause you problems unless you plan on doing some serious off roading of catchin some air off a dune. In that case you will want to upgrade them. I only putt around in the sand with an not so often romp through some woops and I have experianced no problems. I even am running the stock bars. Tweak away the ride will change with how high you want to go. 32 M/T and a smoothe ride with mine laugh

I agree. Just make sure that you leave at least 1/4" for suspension travel until you get some ultra low bumpstops.

He didn't say it was.......

He implied that kbb considers it one, though.

I call mine a truck. It has a truck frame. And truck tires........

And Nissans, even the ones made in TN, are still categorized as "imports" because most classification systems categorize by make. Nissan is a Japanese make.

And "American" truck companies are called "domestic" although many of them have factories elsewhere.
