Hello everybody-I own a 2006 granite x 4x2 w/22300 miles. Bought it new after wrecking a beloved toyota p/u. Now a big xterra fan--like the horses, the interior layout, the roof-rack & box, and the multiple outlets. I don't 4wheel much, that's why I got the 2wd (also to save $), but the xterra height is great when tooling around the old flooded neighborhoods during high tides. It's also a great dog (ihave 3) transporter.
I went old school: manual windows, door locks and mirrors. every car I've owned lost power on one of these, and I plan on driving mine into glory. Plus, my old city floods, and I have water-entrapment paranoia.
Only mods: tiny fisheye/concave mirrors (stuck on side mirrors for towing/blind spot elimination)& sirius radio. I hope to find parts, advice, and good ideas from this forum.

Welcome! I always had my heart set on a 4Runner, but by the time I had the $, I had fallen in love with the X. The X is comfortable, but very functional, it hasn't lost it's edge. I've only had mine about 3 months, but I think it's great in town and off road. This site is a great place to ask other X people about their experiences, whenever you have a question. lj
