Hey everybody. Just regestered and wanted to say hi. Me and the misses have a 2007 X Se with 1100 miles on it so far and just wanted to say we really do like the new car. Got it from a great dealership in northern Illionis (McGrath) and got a great deal on it.

Now for the question. Just bought a drop in K and N and put it in Saturday. Servie engine soon light on Sunday. Went to AutoZone to get the code pulled. P0455 Evap leak large. Now I have a great deal of back ground with fords (mustangs) and have built 5 different cars (94 to 97) so I do know cars a little bit.

When I installed the filter I thought that there was only 2 tabs on the air box. Well on sunday after the code check I saw that there was 3. (Missed the middle one on the instal). Dumb mistake I know but would that be enough to throw the code? I did check the gas cap. Clicked when I tightened it so that wasn't loose either.

Any thoughts on the minor problem?

Thanks for any help that you fine people can lend to a noob with the Xterras.

Joe and Marta

Welcome aboard from another Chicago-area member!

Now to answer your question, the code is not likely to be set off by not having one clip tight on the air box. It should not throw any codes what so every because the ECU might just simply see an increase of air volume and just compensate with adding more gas (similar to the CAI concept).

Well the dealer said that it was the gas cap not being tight enough. Go figure......
