I don't know if anybody is interested but at www.rockstomper.com/catalog/suspen/discon.htm you can get these cool looking disconnects. They are $75 a pair. $$$

Here's my question about disconnects of that design on the X--our end links are so short that I sometimes hear my swaybar hit the A-arm when it's disconnected. Wouldn't this be a much bigger problem if you didn't remove all the bushings (like the Rockhopper design) ?

The RockStompers don't have any bushings, and would not work well on the Xterra.

The sway bar design on the X needs bushings at the frame mount, and end links.

Gotcha, okay...I think I have the rockstomper design mixed up with another design I had seen that just had you pull out a center lynch pin, and kept the bushings on the two ends w/ springs. Teach me to comment w/out following the link...

What would you be giving up without the bushings? Would the ride be extremely harsh or a bit more harsh?

ok, so are these disconnects good for the Xterra? Or not good for the Xterra? Do they seem cheap or are they a good product?

This is just my opinion since I haven't bought these yet.
It looks like they are quite stout. I would also imagine that you can use these regardless of bushings just your on road ride will be a bit rougher...although if your a canyon carving fool(which I'm not) than I would also imagine that you would get a more level ride(less side to side tipping).

BTW I could be wrong but I believe this is the same company that is working on a gear set for the T-case. From 2.02:1 to 3.685:1.
Now thats what I'm talking about. I think they are in the last phases of testing out these gears and rumor has it they will cost $1200.
If this is the same company they do have a high reputation for high quality and backing their products.

I thought the company working on the gears was rockhopper?

Trolling through the MAXC list archives I found this from a discussion a while back: (from rockhopper, in reply to an inquiry.)

"The Nissan Patrol rock hopper project is well advanced. We believe these gears will fit most Nissan transfer cases (TX10, 11,12). We can verify this with your specific vehicle build details.
Your current high range is 1 to 1, this will remain unchanged.
Your current low range is 2.02 to 1. This becomes 3.658 to 1...that's a 81% reduction !
Release date and price are not yet finalized, hopefully 2 to 3 months and around $2650 Aussie dollars."
