I used search to look for a previous thread on this, and I didn't find one. Please don't flame me if it's been covered before....

I am looking for a roof bag that will work with the stock roof rack. I have found a couple on the internet, but I don't really want "UHaul" printed on the side. Does anyone have a bag that they especially like/hate?

I am going to Estes Park, CO in June. The bikes and fly rods are going in the back of the X, so the bag is just to hold whatever won't fit. Thanks for your input.

Steelhorse has a nice one. considering picking it up myself. ( I saw it in one of my catalogues, but they should have it at their site . www.steelhorseautomotive.com )
waterproof fabric bag, I'm guessing the dimensions were 48 x 48 x 18 ?, I'd have to check, has a latch tie down system to fit the bars, bullet nose to it for wind resistance, and when you don't need it, you can fold it away.

Ian knows a place that carries some monster bags, I'd say he'll post it shortly.
www.rei.com has some decent ones.

Walmart and Target also carry these and I would imagine they are cheaper thatn Steelhorse and REI. Although quality is always a consideration too.

I've seen the other bags around.. I key in on the words.. "water resistant" and "waterproof".. most of the cheaper bags are water resistant. Not too sure how they would last on top while driving a few hours in the rain ?

The Steel Horse bag is water resistant, after driving to Colorado for GOX last year I had water in the bag plus it was not very durable....I guess you get what you pay for.

If you want complete "waterproofness" then "Baja Bag" is the brand to go with. I've had superb luck with them.

Or, you could go with one of these babies: http://www.altrec.com/shop/detail/6226/9

Do a search under suv parts or truck parts and it brings up a specialty shop that had a pretty good one, that wasn't too expensive. I'd look it up again but I can't right now.
