It may be abvious, but was your truck recalled for the fuel sending unit recall? It may bo corroded as per the recall and shorting out/ stops working after some time.

No check engine light? No sputtering?

Is the fuel pump working ok? You can hear if it's running when you put the key in ignition, turn it to 'on' but not start it. There should be a buzzing/humming noise from the back, that's the sound of the pump turning on.

Run it over to Auto Zone if you have one nearby. They will scan the codes for free and tell you what they are. It'll give you more ideas.

Also call you dealer and have them run your VIN number. If you're not the first owner, you don't know what recalls were done to her. By giving them your VIN they will tell you whether this or any recalls have been done before.

If the fuel sending unit has not been done before, it may be it, there's a good chance.

If you want to, pm me your VIN # now, and I can check on it. You don't have to wait until Monday. I have national access to certain portions of the Nissan DCS. wink

Yes, you do have an open R0402 NoSalt Campaign open on your vehicle. If it's dying, then Nissan should be picking up the tow bill to the nearest dealership. Mind you, the nearest dealer, not the one you may prefer!

Your vehicle was originally purchased at Shingle Springs Nissan, in Shingle Springs, Cali. on 8/18/2000.

Glad to help!

You only had the one recall that pertained to your particular truck. The other recall would be excluded by VIN.

Glad to hear that it all worked out.
