I have put a Flowmaster Super 40 on my truck. In the begining i cut the old mulffler and the tail pipe off and just installed the muffler. I want to have a new tail pipe put on but i want a "custom" job. I have the muffler inlet and outlet size for 2 1/4in. I want the tail pipe to be a 2 1/4in pipe from the muffler but faded into a 3inch pipe at the end of the truck to give a bigger more aggressive look instead of the 2 1/4in. pipe all the way.

I just dont know where exactly to go to get this done. I was maybe thinking of Midas.

Any suggestions??

Just get a reducer to go from the OEM diam to the 3"...stick the 2.25" end on the 2.25" OEM part, and the new 3" tail pipe end on the 3" side, and you are DONE.

Got your PM.

OK - A reducer is just a pipe that's a smaller size at one end...and they make exhaust reducers that are the size of your current pipe (2.25") at one end, and 3" on the other end...so you stick the smaller end over the smaller pipe, and you stick the new section of 3" that you want to use at the end into the fatter end of the reducer, and you are done.

Does that help?
