professor...

No chips available! The crap on Ebay is crap, just a resistor to fool the engine.

The only way to do this is to send the ECM away to reprogram it. Don't know if anyone here has done this.

The computer/chips for most vehicles advance the timing or dump more fuel into the system. The first gen X's have a very weak aftermarket following outside of the mods that you have already done. I know a lot of people who have even sent their computers away, received them back, went back to re-dyno just to find out that they had lost horsepower. I bought a Hypertech chip for a 5.0 once that required the timing to be retarded just so the chip could turn around and advance it. I had already advanced the timing so I returned the chip without installing it. Maybe sometime soon someone will come out with a reprogramed computer for the X that will work, but nothing right now.

Thanks! I was researching and jet was the only aftermarket option for a "chip" mod. So much for my HP dreams... see ya in the slow lane; better yet the trails! smile

You have the same VQ family engine but it is not the same as the Z. Oh and get yourself a new stopwatch, I think it's moving too slow.
4 seconds on a 5000lb truck in two wheel drive [Freak] keep dreaming. The vette weights about 1500 lbs less and has 400hp just to get the same time to 60 and I doubt your truck has the aerodynamics to go 140MPH. A 93 Mustang Cobra can barely break 140 with it's aerodynamics so I doubt your truck can. Maybe your friend screwed your computers so that your speedo will show 140 or maybe you were reading the KPH. But all I know is you need to go back to english, math, and science class to learn how to spell, calculate, and learn aerodynamics vs wind resistance before telling everyone here how you went 140 and did 0-60 in 4 seconds. Oh and it's 4x2 not 2x2. Hmmm...that's probably why you did 0-60 in 4 seconds you only had half the truck. [Finger]

If you buy an X for offroad capability, why would you want to do 140? This thing is as aerodynamic as a cinder block. I don't care what you do to the engine for mods, you would likely break the engine before 140.

So DRO, your Dad got a new X huh? Nice choice.

Now go give your Dad back his keys, before he finds out you're speeding (and lying) and washes your mouth out with soap.

Take your Ritalin and play your vids, you ADD riddled brat.

Bwaaaahhhaaaaahhhaaa!!!!

Oh man, seriously... 0-60 mph in 4 seconds?
Too much Xbox? Too much crack?

Ok, let's think scientifically. The rough formula for calculating 0-60 times is this. 0-60 = weight of car in Kg /bhp*0.9

Ok, '05 4x4 Off road X weighs in at 4382 lbs with Auto tranny. In pounds that would be roughly 1752.8 Kg. Let's plug in some numbers.

x= 1752.8 / 265*0.9
x= 5.95, which is ROUGHLY the 0-60 of gen 2 X.

Hmmm so you say that your X does 0-60 in 4 seconds. Let's see about that.

4= 1752.8/X *0.9

x= 1752.8/4*0.9 x= 394.38

So, you wanna tell us that your friend fiddled with something, however NEVER INSTALLED ANYTHING on your X and you're pushing 394.38 HORSE POWER????

Bull shit, my friend....bull shit..

Now you say that you actually have something in there???

You came to the wrong place to B.S. about Xterra. It's obvious that people here know a bit more than you. You bullshitted, we called you out, now you admit it.

Got balls???

We've gone Plaid!

Is ludicrous speed past plaid? Or is it the other way around?
