Just got this 02 XE with auto tranny. There seems to be about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of travel in the gas pedal arm before it actually begins to move the cable. My lizard brain says "Grab the vice grips you fool and adjust it and dont look in the manual." The other part (of my brain) says "Although the cable adjusting nut and lock nut look alot like bike caliper brake adjustments maybe you should ask someone who might know something about this" It is irritating that the throttle does not respond until the "slack" is taken up. Tends to make for lurching starts and off road may result in spinning tires when not desired. Am I making more of this than necessary? Does the accelerator cable work independant of the other cable (cruise control cable?) on the throttle body?
Any comments appreciated.
