I'm getting ready to take my 2002 4x4 SE back for the 7,500 mile check up...the manual has two levels of service suggested...I plan on keeping this X for awhile and the dealer says I'm nuts to expect him to do the "premium" service? Any thoughts? Also what is the going rate for scheduled maintenance at a dealer? My first post so I apologize if this is covered somewhere else!

A dealer is turning down a chance to relieve you of as much of your money as possible? How strange.

IIRC, the 7,500 mile service is basically an oil change, tire rotation and "checking" belts, brakes and other stuff. I think I paid about $80 for that a couple of years ago.
