#658317 - 01/05/08 09:12 PM CALMINI 3" sus. lift ?

I just ordered my Calmini shackles today at North-Shore Off-Road, and while I was there I asked about the Calmini 3" SL. The guy who was helping me out said that the kit would be around $1200.00, and for them to install the kit it would be aprox. 13 hrs. labour due to it being an IFS.

13 hours labour seems a bit much to me, but I'm new to this so I don't know. I guess my question is....would I be able to the work myself? has anyone else installed this lift in their garage? and are there any special tools and/or skills needed to do this job?

Thanks in advance! [Smoking]

Garages don't know what they're talking about. I had a garage tell me I need to get new T-bar brackets, cause they'd need to cut them out to replace the new ones... [Freak]

I did the SLR lift myself, I had a buddy help me with the 3AAL's. The front, just get some really good sawzall blades and go to town on the cam bolts(which you'll need to buy new ones at the dealership, and washers). After those are off, it was a breeze.

I also did the SLR 3'' with AAL. It was a fairly straight forward job. I however was able to spare my cam bolts because that rust bug dont really hang out here in Lubbock.
As far as "special" tools you may need a pickle fork for the UCA's there cheap or you can rent one.

it is fairly straight forward. Get a few friends together and go for it. Another trick is you can shock the ball joints out of the knuckle by hitting the knuckle on the side with a BFH.. x2 on getting a set of Cam bolts.

add a leaf. Basically you increase your ride height by adding a leaf to your spring pack.
