Ok so here's the situation. I have a 2000 Xterra 3.3 motor. It was giving me a error saying Cyl 6 missfire. Took the upper intake plenum off and found that the cly 6 injector was not plugged in. Put everything back together with a new gasket. When I started it up it rev'd at about 2000 rpm at idle. Adjusted the TPS and idle adjustment screw to 750 rpm at idle. But now as soon as I put it into drive the rpms jump up to 1500. Also when I'm driving at low speeds it tends to rev high before shifting.

Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Scott

did you have the battery disconnected while doing the work? just wondering if the computer had reset, or if maybe it didnt reset and needs to be? Not sure about your problem, just trying to throw an idea out there for starters........

Yeah I had the battery disconnected while the work was being done. Then I reset the ecu hoping it would come out of it but it was a no go. I was a reading another thread that said sometimes the IAC plug will come apart slightly when you take the upper intake plenum off.....really don't want to take that off again to check....
