New to the forum with a just purchased 2007 XTerra S. Can someone fill me in on the rules and regulations for off-roading in Arizona ? I know the common sense items like staying on roads/trails, pack out what you pack in etc. I live in Vail (Tucson). Any local clubs to the Tucson area ?

Most places post what's required....and, yes, Tread Lightly principles are mostly what you need to follow.

Some trails have minimum requirements, like 4wd, or a locker or two...but I don't think that's a legal requirement per se, as it is in some states where roads or passes are closed for the season UNLESS you have 4wd and snowflake rated tires, or other stipulations.

If a local AZ guy finds this, maybe they can flesh this out for you.
