I currently have a 2004 Nissan Xterra with the 3.3L v6 Nonsupercharged automatic 4x4

the tranny is no good.. I believe i can do this, but not 100%
i have a parts 04 Nissan frontier w/ 3.3L v6 nonsupercharged 5 speed 4x4

can i take everything off this frontier to make my xterra a 5 speed? i having trouble searching for info on this, and would greatly appriciate any advice or info i could get.

Yes it should work without to much drama. There is not too much different between the two trucks

The mechanicals are the same. Shouldn't have too much trouble. Remember to get the trim pieces too from the Fronty. Going from an auto to a 5-speed the trim will be different. And the clutch hardware too.

IIRC, TJ had some issues involving a swap of engines that had different transmissions (one from an auto, one from a manual). I believe some of the issues involved the transmission, but that may also have been related to the fact that the stuff was from two different years.

Any idea on the issues he had on his swap? what were the years of the 2 vehicles and where did he run into trouble?

theres 2 on here saying no problems and a nissan garage saying no problems

then 1 here saying issues and 1 nissan garage saying computer problems?

i just dont want to drive 6 hrs away and spend $1000 bux for the swap if it wont work

K_ENN - I think you're right now that you mention it. I think TJ did have a couple issues. They were small, IIRC. He was able to surmount them, but still. Let's see if he chimes in with his input.
