Are there any safari bars (like the Westin) for the 2002 model? Or will the Westin bar work? I really need one, too many Xterra's running around that look the same, I need to do some add on's.

Somebody here has put a Westin bar on their 2002, but I forget who... I believe they had to do some cutting though... do a search on '2002 safari bar' or something like that in parts and accessories or general maybe...

Yes, please try the search - there's at least one person, and very recently (last few weeks) that has bolted one to a 2002.

I don't remember if there was cutting involved, but it would be minor, and I think there's even notches from the factory for adding the brush guard which you might be able to use...

all you do is remove that plastic grill cover on the bottom and cut a small square hole about 4"x4" or so in the spots where the bar bolts on.
put the cover back on and then put the bar on.
very easy

So the mounting holes are the same, just some plastic in the way? Do you have any pics of where you had to cut by chance?

Interesting. A skid plate for your (plastic) skidplate.

What is that plastic thing for anyways ?
