Has anyone found a good use for the extra console holes above the stereo on the 2002 model? Will Nissan be releasing any add-ons with buttons or switches specifically designed for the cutouts?

I have an early 2002 promo brochure (four pane folds like a map with yellow on one side "GO. On your own terms."
{2001 Nissan North America, Inc. '02 Xterra. 2001-1/01-250M-CGI.}

and on the other side it shows the dash with a red circle in center "console hole" and illegible lettering above the "button". the far right "hole" is deeper inset and has two lines of text above.

my guess is scratched concept, competitive diversion, or possibly an '03 idea?

*edit: It also shows RockfordFosgate printed above the "load" button on stereo.

I have used the extra holes. I have 4 top mounted PIAA lights. 2 driving and 2 fog. I used the center hold for a round rocker switch for the overhead driving lights and the right hold for a round rocker switch for the overhead fog lights.

Thats what I'm gonna use mine for I think. Same exact idea. One for fog and one for driving lights.

I wish Nissan had put the emergency flasher button above the radio in the center and the rear defrost on the right of it(they had it right with the 2001). My fat fingers turn on the rear defrost all the time(very sensitive switch) and a few times I've wanted to turn on the flashers and I can't see the button and the shifter and 4wd stick are obtrusive to my fat feeling hands.

How did you make the little labels?

Why on Earth did you mount fog and driving lights on your roof ?

Probably the same reason I plan on doing that. The 2 center for forward distance viewing and the 2 outside ones to give you more light around the front and side of the truck.
