After Rinky had diff leak problems a couple of weeks ago, he ordered the diff skid from: AC diff Armor
I ordered one the same day. Called 4x4 parts this a.m. to check status. After lots of questions and me sending photos of my diff and axle, they determined the skid they sent me wouldn't fit the Dana 44 on the '05 or '06 OR with MT.
They called back my order from UPS and said they'd have diff armor that would fit in 3 to 4 weeks.
Also told them that Rinky had ordered one also, so hope they get to him before the skid arrives.

Good to know. I was just thinking about ordering one.

Bummer, but I believe that Defibvt was actually the one to say he's got one ordered. Rinky was going to order, but don't think he did yet.

What a headache.

Damn I too was going to order that skid.

Just installed my front diff skid.

4x4 Parts said they were gonna update their web site so this doesn't happen again. They said Nissan uses three different Differentials on the '05 '06 Xterras and they just hadn't caught on to that fact 'til now.

3 different diffs on the new one? I thought they were all D44's?

Are they still using C200's on the 2wd 4 banger models?

there's no 4 cyl anymore smile

i've only heard two diffs...i guess it might be three.

d44 w/locker
d44 w/o locker
c200

the OR comes with the locker, manuals come without the locker, and autos non OR comes with c200

It was 4x4 Parts that said there were three; could be only two. All I know for sure is the armor they have now will not fit the Dana 44 on the '05 '06 X OR. Hopefully they'll get busy and have one soon that will. frown

I assure you my Manual OR has the locker. I prefer to call it the 'Easy Button' myself. In fact, if I could wire in a big red button like the one below, in place of the OEM button. I would - Just for the humor factor.

I never did get around to ordering the Skid yet, so I guess this didn't affecte me. Thanks for the heads up tho Hooli. Fixing the diff leak was not a fun task, got er done on the 2nd attempt tho.

There are only two rear end. The C200 and the Dana equivalent.

Yeah, I think the D44 is only on the 6 spd manual OR.

If I remember correctly only the S and possibly the X edition autos got the C200. Everything else has the D44 equivalant.
