I just purchased a 2000 X and went for an oil change to Gillman Nissan in Rosenberg. Asked them to do a 25 point inspection and they did not even bother to check the air filter ( The filter was extremely dirty, I cannot believe they missed it). Instead asked me to replace Transmission oil flush and F/R diffential oil. When the T.oil looks and smells almost new.

Needless to say I am looking for a good mechanic in Houston / Sugar Land area for my X. Any Suggetions?

You may want to try Sterling McCall Nissan located in Stafford. It's right off highway 59 and W. Airport. Their customer service has improved since it became Sterling McCall (used to be Sam White Nissan then Lonestar Nissan) but I don't have any first hand experience with their body shop.

HTH!

DUDE!!!!...Avoid GILLMAN NISSAN like the aids plague. That Service Mgr, Derek Hightower is a royal prick in the butt. They did not fix anything on my 2003 X and laughed at me saying they had never heard of the problems I had. Everytime they said that I would just say..
"Well now you have heard of it". They did not do jack but piss me off and that's where I bought my X from...Good deal with a very knowledgable, no BS salesman. I've known the Gillmans for years but I did not bother them with Derek...He'll hang himself.

Bubba the mechanic is their best there... [LOL]

In Angleton, Gulf Coast Nissan, is a very good service dept...See Ron Almquist and he will take care of you professionally and with respect.

If you ever need a good independent shop...Ray's Electri in Bellaire. Lot's of good mechnics with experience there. Clint Black can help on most any vehicle.

Thanks for the feed back. Yes, I gave talked to Derek and Scott and Bubba also. And, yes, that was my first and last visit to Gillman. I told them that I bought a used 2000 X with 43,000 miles and I dont know if 30,000 mile service was done or not and just buy looking at the air filter I could tell that was original air filter in there and looked terrible but those boys did not even bothered to look at air filter or the coolant and when I asked them they said it was fine. All they were interested were in changing Transmission oil and F/R Diff oil. Thanks again, I will try to look up Ray's Electri (if you have their address, please post it or the phone number) and I will keep Angleton in mind also.

Ray's Electric...(Name carried over from the 60s and 70swhen they specialized in Alternator rebuilding) 713-661-1004...Located in the Bellaire Blvd and Hillcroft area. I don't know the actual address but you have their #.

Clint Black is a friend of about 25 yrs and an excellent mechanic that can figure almost anything out working there for about 10-12 yrs now. He is a genius and I mean that literally. They have several specialists there. He told me he has worked on very few XTERRAs however as I checked with him prior to purchase. It's a vehicle so he knows plenty. Way up on modern cars and certified out the WAZOO on lots of things.

I told you the wrong name of the shop....It is Neil Cross Automotive.

I have had pretty good luck with Baker Jackson Nissan on 290 and Astrodome.
I would prefer the Astrodome location.
They service manager there is brutally honest. I love that when it comes to my truck.
I dont want the padded version.
Plus he is a good ole boy so he had no quams about being straight up and hurting your feelings.
Sometimes its good to have them around.

I cant remember his damn name though.
