I don't think I could join all 4 days.

What I meant was what trails, activities, etc.

White Rim, can't exactly jump in half-way through.
Moab Rim, can't be done in a stock X.
Elephant Hill, don't want to do....yet.

Anywhere else I'm game, its only a 4hr drive from here.

Moab has lots to do, saying you're going to Moab is like saying you're going to Europe.
It leaves alot to the imagination.

The tentative schedule is as such...

Thursday 22nd, Fins & Things, possibly something else.
Friday 23rd, Poison Spider Mesa, and something else.
Saturday 24th, Metal Masher, Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon (followed by Chili Willies for my birthday at Eddie McStiffs!).
Sunday 25th, Unknown. Some folks will be heading back to Colorado, Leslie and I will be staying one more night.

We should be arriving on Wednesday night, late. We should be at the Ramada Inn.

I'll keep you informed as this gets updated.

Maybe you can help me out, I'm heading to Moab this weekend, kind of roadtrip type thing, where are some good intermediate trails, I was looking at Fins and things and maybe White Rim. I noticed your schedule for Thanksgiving, how dificult are those? I'm basically just stock so that may limit me a little. Any suggestions will help.

Stop by the Moab visitors center and pick up trail maps. My wife and I ran Gemini Bridges, Bull Canyon, Shafer trail, Long Canyon and Bartlett Wash no problems. We are completely stock (long Trails). Gemini Bridges was the most difficult of the trails we took. The rest were unchallenging but very scenic.

Hawkeye, White Rim is a long trail that can be done in a day but only if you race through. It isn't hard but is incredibly beautiful and should have a few days dedicated to it just so you can enjoy the scenery.

And if you can, go into Arches Natl' Park and hike out to Delicate Arch first thing.
Comming around the bend and seeing the arch is like walking up to the feet of god as he's creating the universe, your jaw will drop to to the ground.

How stock is stock ? You have 31" tires right ? So does everyone else attending except me. Shouldn't be a problem.

It depends on my final schedule, and how sadistic my professors are, but count me in. I am just stupid enough to try all those trails and hopefully I will have one or two extra upgrades by then.

I watched as you guys did that stupid shit last year ... and couldn't breathe right for the rest of the week. When you're at McStiff's, light some 151 on fire, toss that down your gullet and chase it with their stout.

Keresky 97/Noxscape I am actually leaving tonight after work so white rim could work, I'll probalbly be heading back Saturday. I've seen some trail ratings on a scale from 1-5, how would you say it rates? 3ish?

White Rim is 87 miles of 2WD dirt road, and one small hill climb.
I would give it a 1.

So what you're telling me is that it is like gold camp road down here? Fins and things it is.

The campgrounds at White Rim need reservations to get in, I'm not sure how full the are at this time of year but I'd check before you go in.

Reservation office staff are available by phone to answer questions and assist with trip planning Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (MST), at (435) 259-4351. When our workload permits, phones may be answered until 4:00 p.m. Please have a map available if you would like assistance with trip-planning. Reservations may not be made over the phone.

If you do the trail anyway start early in the morning so you dont get stuck out there in the middle of the night.
And Ian's right its a very easy trail, if you enter through Potash I'd rate it 1/1.5.
If you go in from Cannyonlands and go down the Shafer Trail the I'd rate it a 2, just because the switchbacks are so foreboding.

I am interested in getting more details. I do not know about Thursday - Turkey day with 2+ family functions. Who all is expressing interest. I had a great time at GOX, would like to see some of the folks from the metro area again. I enjoyed the various photo's that folks have posted from Moab from GOX. I haven't been to Moab for years, oh yeah, it has something to do with a 9 year old son.

Ian, have wanted to join RMXc, but getting out of Pueblo to join folk from the metro area is difficult. I was in Ouray through Tuesday. We spent a little time at the BBQ, but I guess it is easy to lose t big redhead. I need to get more info. I thought I tracked something once, but never have gotten anthything.

You should still join the list. As the club grows, we will need people in all areas of the state to organize trail runs and functions.

The first page of this thread has most of the current info about the trip. 5 RMXC members have signed up, Plus Karensky from Utah and possibly (hopefully) Ivan from El Paso.
