Not exactly an issue directly with my truck, but more my Hi-lift.
I swapped Hi-Lift bars with Jimmy from LINXC yesterday (my 48" for his 60") and after swapping them out we noticed that neither one lowers properly.
I have rebuilt my hi-lift several times and this is the second time it happened. (first time was at the B2S run while trying to jack up Cornick's truck).
We checked his hi-lift which was never rebuilt and still in mint condition and his didnt lower properly either. WTF?!

I pulled mine apart and checked the climbing pins and couldnt find anywhere online the correct direction to install them. They are the 1/2" diameter dowels that have an angle on one side.

Does the angle side go up or down?

Are both the same direction?

We tried all different combinations on my hi-lift. All of them resulted in it lifting really well, but didnt lower at all.

Any ideas?!
Does everyone's hi-lift work properly?

I'm open for any suggestions or info.
Thanks!

I'm not sure which way it goes for the pin but I will take a look at mine in the morning to see if I can see which way it goes. Sorry to hear that. Not to sound like you don't know what you are doing but you are moving the lever so that it will allow it to go down correct? It took me a couple of seconds to figure mine out the first time I used mine.

Yes, I know how to operate the hi-lift properly, I've had it for more than 4 years.
I havent had any issues previously with it not lowering properly which is why I am posting this.

How to lower a high lift:
Step one: beat the lever down with a hammer or large rock.
Step two: Slober heavy gear oil over the entire step pin mechanisim.
Step three: Stand as far away from the jack when lowering (sometimes two or three friends can help keep the thing from tipping over or the bottom kicking out)

I use white lithium on mine....keeps the weather at bay.

The climber works fine too, jus flick the lever for going up or down, and it does.

Maybe you put the standard in upside down?

Mine sometimes get stuck, which is when I know its time to grease it up, hit it with some wd40 (which you have in your tool box right?) if it gets stuck on the way down with load on it, let it sit for a minute and tap the side with a wrench or hammer till the bottom pin slides in. After that it should work alright, if not keep tapping it with a hammer all the way down and regrease...

This is what I end up doing every time I use mine...

Everytime I go to Moab I know 2 things.

1. I am gonna have a blast.
2. The dust is gonna make the hi lift stop dropping.

So keep the WD40 handy and my leatherman.
