Does a "Pull-pal" work reasonably well when you don't have a winch point to attach to. The environment would be farm dirt roads or fields in rainy conditions where I hunt. I did a search but info was inconclusive.

Cost is about $250-$300 for the medium duty Pull-Pal.

It looks like a plow anchor for a sailboat. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/10001/-1/10001/239616/10001/212/11206/5

Not only would the anchor be cheaper, you can secure you sailboat during a good blow

This is where they work best. Well worth the money and space they take up.

My wifes Aunt and Uncle use these on the farm in Nebraska all the time. most of the time they work great. Some times they do just pull right back out or scoop the dirt out and can't hold. but most of the time they hold great.
