I tried a search to no avail. I was looking for a winch and a sales person said the a 9000lb winch would be to big for the X to handle, his reasoning had somthing to do with the xtra weight of the bumper and the winch combined was too much for the front end.
My gut tells me he is blowing smoke , though I dont claim to be an expert in this area. Is there any truth to his comment?

Ask him to at least take you out for dinner before he fucks you.

I have a Warn XD9000i in my Calmini bumper. It fits fine. They have a few models that pull 9500lbs that will fit also. The 12,000lb and higher may be physically too large to fit in the bumpers we have available. The rule of thumb I've heard is 2x the weight of the vehicle to be pulled or as big as you can fit.

As to the weight. My SLR torsion bars have never quit settling since I bought them, so it wasn't a big deal that I had to adjust them after putting on the new bumper/winch. They did sag quite a bit the first month or two.

Just as I thought. I never really bought into his Bullshit rambling.
I just love it when people (sales people) assume patrons dont know shit. Thanks for the input.

By the way which torsion bars do you have the 300M' or the others?

I have the 300M for now, they give a soft ride, but at the expense of durability. I guess if you don't mind replacing them once a year they are pretty good. What I ended up with were also the smallest in his line, it's what Junior recommended for a Calmini bumper and winch.

From my experience SLR is not a reputable company, I would recommend against ordering anything from them. Spencer Low Jr. is no better than a snake oil salesman.

That seems to be the opinion of many. What a pity, thats all I've got to say about that.

I know someone with a TJM T15 bumper with a 12K Milemarker electric behind it...

Holy Jesus. Thats huge, I dont think I will be going that big, I dont think the ARB could accommodate a winch that big.

Don't think there's any less room behind an ARB.

who the hell cares about what it weighs! just rememeber to get a winch that is rated at least 1 1/2 times your GVW. Then you'll always be safe!
