This weekend will be my first time taking my X offroad. (2003 XE V-6 4X4) I've been offroad a couple times but still very green at it. Any suggestions, warnings, prayers, whatever. The terrain isn't crazy just some roughed out mountain trails, but any help is appreciated.

-J Thank you may I please have another.

You're welcome to join us this weekend.

More info can be found here .

Also, my suggestion is to remove the step rails, mudflaps, and go slow. Try not to floor it.

...I've been tackling the easy "4x4 trails" first...mud, creeks and rocky trails...some steep hills...and like mentioned above GO SLOW!!!...I haven't taken my step rails off or anything like that...but, when the time is right to do it..I'll make the effort..Also..Install some Tow Hooks and get some Recovery Equiptment...

May I suggest going out with at least another vehicle...When I hit the trails I never do it alone, none of the standard recovery stuff is helpfull without another vehicle to pull you out.. wink

But like Jorge said slow and steady... wink
