Just wanted to thank all of the contributors and so on to this 4WD portion of the forum. I was having a 4WD problem (I had no 4WD) and, thanks to the search tool, good advice and many, many helpful posts here, I was able to tell that I had a bad hub. Took it in to my local dealer here in Fredericton NB Canada and, an hour later and all under warranty, I was on my way, back in 4WD again. This 4WD info store really helped me understand the problem and pass info to the technician.
Seems like a plastic bushing had overheated in the LF hub and prevented engagement. Dealer said he had never seen this kind of failure before...any comments? He also said I should keep my auto hubs until warranty expires, then install Warn manuals since they're cheaper, stronger etc. I have awhile to consider that.
Once more, thanks to XOC and all contributors for your (indirect but great) help.
