SHERMAN PASS (33E48) -
Located in Sequoia National Forest about 25 miles northeast of Lake Isabella
Starts just north of Bonita Meadow off Road 22S41 and ends at Sherman Pass Road about six miles west of Vista Point. Mostly moderate to easy with some great camping, views, greenery, should be cooler that high up. We will camp for the night near the meadow on the end most likely. The first part of the trail is easy and then a couple of moderate to difficult steeper narrow rocky stretches with some loose dirt before returning to a forest serviced graded dirt type road.

MONACHE ROAD (34E38) -
Begins at Powell Meadow off of Road 21S36 and ends at Snake Creek. This 4X4 road provides access to Monache Meadow and the South Fork of the Kern Wild and Scenic River . Excellent for beginners and all 4-wheel drive users. (2.4 miles each way)

Takes ~ 1.5hrs to get to the Sherman Pass trail from Bakersfield through Kernville ( top off gas) The drive up along the kern river is interesting to the start of Sherman. We will run most of it and and then camp that night near the end, most likely by the meadow. Next day head over to Monache up/back then down through Kennedy Meadows to the 395/14 and back to L.A., about a 4 hour trip up/back + 4 or so on the highway back home

This is great chance to get out of town, something different basically a nice mix of some fine scenery, you can also hike, fish, etc and both of the trails are moderate to easy (Monache). There was a fire near Sherman pass couple yrs back so the trees will be thinner but I heard its’ nice and thick on top, some water crossing, fishing around, and the meadows are nice.

May end up being the club run this month or not but everybody with a 4x4 is welcome eitherway [Wave]

Please post up if you’re interested, have any Q’s, etc.
