NPR interviewed David Kay, Bush's (former) weapons inspector in Iraq, and answers most of the questions related to the shell. Basicly he says its an old shell from the 80's. The evidence is that the shell was rusted and the Sarin has deteriorated quite a bit, that's why the soldiers affected only suffered mild symptoms. He says there probably as many as 100 more shells scattered across Iraq that will be turning up over the next 50 years.
