The X has one of the best stock braking systems of it's class. Unless you were towing something heavy down a steep grade and not using engine braking, I would be suprised that you could overheat the stock braking system enough to notice a loss in performance.

Heck, the stock Miata brake system has to be thoroughly abused at the track to induce overheating.

Slotted rotors do allow water/mud to clear faster, but I see people here mowing through mud and water all the time.

That's probably why there hasn't been much of a response...
