I think it is normal. I had the same issue, complained, and the Dealer said the slop was within tolerance.
I was reasurred when I took a ride in an '07 and noticed it was exactly the same as mine.

I'll definately have it checked again if it appears worse or I'm coming to the end of my warranty.
