Amazing….. is the word I heard most of folks who attended the East Coast Xterra Challenge (ECXC) 2021 this past July. After a tough 2020, it was great to be out in the woods, enjoying challenging trails with people who share our passions for this great sport of wheeling. 2021 was no ordinary year either, it was the 20th anniversary of ECXC! In fitting celebration of the anniversary, we were graced by Mike Girardo, the genius who organized the very first ECXC back in 2001 & started a 20 year journey. He was chauffeured on the trails by his daughter, wheeling her very own Xterra.

With 44 fully registered drivers & 73 attendees in total, ECXC-2021 kicked off on Thursday morning with wheeling at AOAA in Coal Township, PA. AOAA did not disappoint, providing attendees with all levels of difficulty.

Friday found us back at Rausch Creek in Tremont, PA for the driver lineups. While groups headed out to experience the best of Rausch Creek, teams optionally competed in tackling four marked comp courses that tested the drivers, spotters & their rigs. The winner of the competition received the coveted ECXC trophy. After a dusty, hot, exciting day on the trails, our friends & event sponsors, NotaJeep4x4, hosted a delicious BBQ dinner & a mini-raffle at the TwinGrove Campground.

It was back to Rausch Creek on Saturday for a final day of wheeling some of the best trails on the east coast. That night, the group gathered at TwinGrove for the ECXC dinner & mega raffle. Outstanding support from our sponsors made it one of the biggest raffles we’ve very had.
