It can be done...but with what-all you'd put into it, I honestly don't think it is worth it. The lone exception being if you are going to SAS at the same time...I think PonyBoy did this with his, but off the top of my head I can't recall.

The other problem is that the 5-speed transmissions are so weak that at the factory the engine was detuned by 15Lb/Ft of torque as to not blow them up (as fast).

If you really wanted something to convert to, use the 6-speed out of the 05+.

And NO, I don't know if it will actually fit wink

Pony left his an auto FWIW.

The tranny is a good unit but the synchros do have a tendancy to go out. Mine was bad manily in 1st but reverse was on its way out. The key is to make sure that the correct tranny fluid is used. Casa Nissan in El Paso used the wrong weight fluid and when the tranny started to go they wouldnt fix it (still under warranty) so i took it elsewhere.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I am not your friend and village idiot "badercarma"

As Xterra3202 stated, it's mostly the synchronizer rings, but I digress.

From the FACTORY BROCHURE:

2002 S/C was: 246Lb/Ft Auto and 231 Lb/Ft Manual.
As well the VQ35 powered Pathfinders with a Manual were rated at 231 Lb/Ft...interesting coincidence?

Questions/comments/concerns?
