Anyone try using one of these?

http://www.hi-lift.com/lm-100.htm

Will it work with stock wheels?

TIA

So then you'd stuff something under the axle, let the jack back down and then take the rim off the vehicle. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Especially with the plastic bumpers on the X.

Yeah... that's exactly what I was thinking... it's a workaround those damn bumpers.

It's not necessary if you have sliders.

True... I've been looking at Shrockworks simply for jacking, but hell... $30 is a lot cheaper than $400. smile

Good for steel wheels only for the most part, and I recall some reports that it was not all that helpful.
With the stock steel wheels, you can actually just insert the tongue of the jack into one of the holes and lift that way, worked for me...

Well I have not tried lifting with it yet but it fits the openings in my 2000 X wheels.

I don't understand the not working with aluminum wheels. The hooks have a heavy plastic coating.

It sucks. [ThumbsDown]

I think we have a write up on it in the SWXC section. WE got to take it out with us to Barnwell to try it out and send Hi-Lift our thoughts. Didn't seem very helpful. Get sliders and jack up on those.

Will it work with stock wheels? Well....

15" rims it did not work on. The hooks fit yes, but the brace that was supposed to set against the side wall of the tire was either too high or too low depending on where you place the hooks. Where it was too high there was no way you could lift up; at the too low point, tire/rim separation became an issue.

As surfinteach said, we have a write up on the Lift Mate and our follow up conversation with Hi-lift in the SWXC section. Check it out if you have a moment.

Not to mention you can't get those hooks in the gap between the drum and wheel in the rear, on the 15" alloys anyway...

Is the tire in the above picture sort of blue, or is that just my computer?

Yes, it's blue. Something about the mud in the area I had been 'wheeling in does that to 'em. Reason the pic was taken actually.

And here I thought it was some new mod/trend to try and match the wheels and the x [LOL]

Interesting that the mud around there does that. Any idea what type of mud/soil you are running in? Composition wise?
