Today after school i went to do some light wheeling at a open snow covered feild with some light trails there. I put my truck in 4hi and was doing great, then i got stuck on this small hill and put my truck in nutral and shifted into 4lo. I got out and kept driving around and up the hill. Then befor i got back onto pavement i put my truck out of 4x4 and drove home, now the Fed up part. When my truck is in drive it feels like its hesitating and wont move much, like the e brake is on or something. When my truck is at a full stop and i floor it in drive the the engine is working but the truck barely moves. My truck only moves normaly now in 4lo. Whats wrong? it feels like the e brake is on but its not, the engine sound like its excelerateing but the truck wont move? Need help Thanks guys.

That's a good idea...push it until something really gets fucked up on it.

It sounds like the transfer case still might be in 4lo. Are you SURE you shifted it out properly and unlocked the hubs?

There were some posts before about someone getting their tranny overheated... they talked about a similar loss of power.

That has nothing to do with 4x4, check your tranny fluid. Where you running it really hard to make it over heat or something?

What do you mean? It wasnt that hardcore to break anything so i wouldnt comsider it really an off road area, just a field with some hills and snow.

Ugh. Anyone else care to explain it to this guy? Obviously I'm not getting through.

Unless he's just a Jeeper troll?

Jeez, what a bunch of dicks. He asked an honest question about what was wrong with his truck, and everyone starts attacking him from different angles. I read nothing from his posts that he was out tearing shit up (his truck or terrain). Sounded like he was just doing some recreational 4-wheeling and his truck started misbehaving.

*edit- After re-reading it appears it was just one person being a dick.

I'm assuming you're referring to me? I'm sorry you think I'm being a dick, but people who take their trucks in un-designated areas are exactly why more and more designated off-road areas are being shut down, or not being approved to even open.

Respect for the land is the first thing people need to consider.

Agreed, but you still could have been more civilized in answering his question. I'm sure the point would have been taken better that way as well (a little lube when I bend over, please...). laugh

excellent point Chris...
What was that post by Joe McCarthy? Assholes and Rednecks? Reminds me of a t-shirt I saw when I was living in Jersey..."Welcome to New Jersey, now get the fuck out"

The only "uncivilized" thing I said, was accusing him of being a Jeeper troll, which the forum has been hit with a lot of in the past few weeks. Once that was proven untrue, I provided him a link to the Tread Lightly website I was referring to. [Wave]

By the way geo, I'm glad it wasn't anything serious or expensive to repair.
