Don't worry about it. When I first got my X I didn't know about this tread lightly thing either. No body does untill they own their first 4x4 (and only then if they're actually enthusiastic about it, i.e. soccer moms don't know it).

I posted about my first "blast" around an abandoned lot and everyone instantly gave me shit about it.

Guys, if you know more about 4x4, then good, help others that doesn't. Don't start making a big deal about this "tread lightly" thing if the person's never heard of it before. Educate them, not rape them.

doesn't the x go into a limp-home mode if it detects drastic changes in traction?

No, it doesn't. It can turn your ABS light on though, until you turn the engine off and then back on, if you are applying the brakes at the same time. I ran into that while Ice Racing last weekend.

Gas and brake while doing a chicane on a frozen lake = ABS light!

Yeah he's a newb asking a newb question but you've only been here 2 months yourself. You have to be here at least a year before you can start being a dick right out of the gate like that.

Oh, so that's your excuse?

This topic is 10 days old, and you're just posting to it now? Sheesh.

Obviously you didn't read the entire thread. I thought he was a Jeep person trolling from the Jeep forums, which the XOC has been hit with a few times in the past 2 months. Once that was proven untrue, I provided him links to the Tread Lightly website.
