I was in Montreal last week and it was $0.99 (cdn) a litre [Freak]

It is around $.85 and $.91 here in Ottawa.

So if my math is right (highly suspect)...

Using $.85 CDN/Litre at an exchange rate of 1 CAD = 0.818 USD that means I am paying $0.695 USD/litre

There are 3.78 litres in a US gallon

We are paying $2.627 USD/USG

[Huh?]

Things that make me wonder if I'm getting screwed...

Some Canada facts..

"Goodale previously predicted the surplus for the current fiscal year will likely come in at about $8.9 billion." -why do I pay so much in taxes??

"Canada’s total oil production (including all liquids) was 3.1 million barrels per day (bbl/d) in 2004, making it the seventh-largest oil producer in the world." -we have plenty of water here and it's cheap, why not the gas?

"According to Oil and Gas Journal, Canada had a reported 178.8 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in 2005, second only to Saudi Arabia." -giddy-up how about putting some of that surplus into getting that oil outta the mud so I can get cheaper gas..
